Bailey-Salgado Project film shows in Fremont Wednesday

Seattle Astronomy received a note through Twitter the other day from West of Lenin, the black box theater in Fremont, about an event that may be of interest to Seattle-area astronomy buffs. They’re nearing the end of a series of Wednesday summer movies. This Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 7:30 p.m. they’ll feature the astronomy films of José Francisco Salgado.

Salgado is an astronomer and visual artist at the Adler Planetarium in Chicago and uses his skills in astronomy, education, and visual arts to create multimedia works that communicate science in engaging ways. He is currently producing new science and symphony films and collaborating with musician/composer Tom Bailey (formerly of British pop group Thompson Twins) under the moniker Bailey-Salgado Project (BSP).

The stuff looks cool! Check out this trailer from BSP:

We’re not sure if this is the exact film that will be shown Wednesday. There are several other trailers on the BSP website.

Admission to the event is just $5, with tickets available from Brown Paper Tickets. It’s a 21+ venue.

BSP also is on Facebook.
