Astro Biz: Stargazer cocktail

Stargazer cocktailMany businesses, products, and places have names rooted in space and astronomy. We’re featuring one every Tuesday on Seattle Astronomy.

This week’s Astro Biz is the Stargazer, a house cocktail at Cure, a charcuterie, cheese and cocktail joint in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. The Stargazer is made with Old Overholt rye, Lillet blanc, and orange bitters and is garnished with an orange twist. The official recipe is a closely held secret, but we’ve been able to create a reasonable version of the Stargazer at home using equal parts rye and Lillet.

We chose the Stargazer as the Astro Biz this week because we see a couple of mostly clear nights ahead and may well drag out the telescope. Plus, we’re always thirsty.
